How to Translate Raw Manga to English

1. Start with a readable page image

Use a JPG, PNG or WebP page that you own or are authorized to translate. Keep complete speech bubbles in the image. A small thumbnail enlarged later will not recover missing strokes, so use the clearest available source rather than repeatedly compressing a screenshot.

Start with one page before adding a chapter. The uploader accepts up to 20 images per batch, not a PDF, CBZ archive or manga website URL. For a two-page spread, make sure the lettering is readable at its original size. Avoid cropping through a sentence or removing the neighboring bubble needed to understand it.

2. Select Japanese and English

Open the translator linked above; Japanese and English are already selected. Add your image and wait for its preview. Text recognition prepares the page in the background, but translation begins only after you click Process Image.

The first use can take longer while the browser downloads OCR resources. Click Process Image once. If recognition is still running, the requested translation continues after it finishes. Keep the tab open; repeatedly clicking does not make model downloads faster.

3. Check vertical dialogue in context

Within a typical vertical Japanese bubble, read each column from top to bottom and the columns from right to left. Check each bubble separately: page layout, captions and horizontal labels may follow a different arrangement. Closely spaced columns and small furigana can produce duplicated or fragmented text.

For example, 本当はまだ好きなのに。 could be rendered as “Even though I still love you…” in a suitable scene. This is an illustrative translation, not a recorded output from the tool. Japanese leaves the object unstated, so a scene about a place or activity could require different English. Check names, implied subjects and the surrounding dialogue rather than accepting fluent wording as proof of accuracy.

4. Fit the English text inside each bubble

Open Edit Image on a finished result. Select a text region to change its wording, size, width, font, color or position. English words need horizontal space; a narrow Japanese column should not force a whole English sentence into one cramped line. Adjust width first within the bubble, then reduce the font size only as needed.

The editor changes the text on the result; it is not a guarantee that every missing source character can be recovered. If a line was missed, inspect a clearer source or retry a crop containing the complete bubble. Add text manually only when you know what the original says. Review cleanup separately from translation: lettering over textured artwork may leave artifacts.

5. Export and check your page sequence

Download a finished page as PNG. For a batch, review the numbered thumbnails and the completed results before downloading a ZIP. Only completed pages belong in the finished set; a downloaded archive should not be treated as proof that every selected page succeeded.

Keep the source images until you have checked the export. If one page fails, save the successful results first and retry the affected image separately. If a security check or request limit appears, follow the message and wait when instructed instead of repeatedly submitting the same batch.
